Off We Go! is a two-week theme that will help the students and the teacher become familiar with their environment and the day-to-day routine. Establishing good rules and procedures is essential for having a successful school year. Take the time to help the students become acquainted with your daily schedule and expectations.
A list of procedures to be considered for the beginning of the school year can be found in the REACH Manual on pages 29 & 30. These ideas may assist the classroom teacher in providing varied instruction in creative and fun ways. When children know what is expected of them, it creates a safer environment. Make sure you share your expectations with the parents by having an open-house and also by sending home a welcome newsletter.
